1:00 10 Miles pace
Target pace
6:00 / mile

for 10 miles · 16.0934 km
To finish a 10 miles in 1:00 you need to average 6:00 per mile or 3:43 per kilometre. Halfway should come up on the watch at 30:00.
Both paces are rounded down, so they are targets to beat rather than to match exactly — hold them and you finish a few seconds inside 1:00 rather than a few seconds outside it.

How to pace it
Ten miles sits between the 10K and the half: fast enough to feel like a race throughout, long enough that pacing decides the result.
- Bank nothing. Time gained in the first mile is borrowed at a punitive rate. Running the opening mile 15 seconds quick almost never returns 15 seconds at the end.
- Check at halfway, not at every mile. 30:00 is the number that matters. Mile-to-mile variation of a few seconds is normal and chasing it wastes attention.
- Know your slow-down plan. Decide in advance which splits you will accept losing if conditions or the day turn against you, so the decision is not made mid-race.
- Run the pace in training. A goal pace you have never held for a sustained effort is a guess. Practise it in blocks long enough to feel like the race.
